NEO-COLONAILISM IN NIGERIA:
Comrade Ishaya Zhakom.
Vanity, all is vanity. The labor of our heroes past is in vain.
We were told that milk and honey shall reign in Nigeria when the white-man is gone.
We composed and sang rebellious songs, which stir young and old, males and females, weak and strong for action. Especially when sang by women with their angelic voices. Their songs gave us iron hearts and make us brave. Hence we fought in all directions, with all skills and with total commitment.
To flavor our actions, a lot of good speeches were make by orators/eloquent speakers. The white-man has gone but the situation is stagnant.
At the dawn of 1999, another generation emerged with persuasive words again, blaming the khaki boys for the underdevelopment of Nigeria. They called themselves politicians, they too promised given us Honey and Sweet, Butter and Bread, Building Heaven on Earth, constant Power supply, above all, eradication of illiteracy. We thought the world was about to change her garment.
In our usual manner, we criticized, de-politicized and sent the military to barracks, to give the so-called politicians and their democracy opportunity to show case their beauty, this to no avail.
They again coined a name for democracy to justify the delay of the dividends. It is either call baby or nascent democracy. What worry Nigerians most is, when will our democracy bear fruits. We have waited enough.
Seven years later, citizenry cannot afford three square meal a day, still they called Nigeria the giant of Africa. Woe to those at the helm of affairs.
The labor of our heroes past is in vain. With the natural and human resources of Nigeria all is vanity.Aluta continua, Victoria asata.
Vox populi, vox del.
MALARIA ON THE CONTINENT OF AFRICA:
Comrade Ishaya Zhakom.
AIDS- Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome is a killer disease. For now it has no cure. It is mostly contacted through sexual intercourse. Though there are other ways of contacting the ugly disease e.g. contaminated razor, un-sterilized needle, during blood transfusion etc.
The signs or symptoms of this undesirable disease are not easily notice until after some years. The only solution available for this heartless disease for now according to researchers is for unmarried people to shun pre-marital sex and for married people to be faithful to their partners. The uses of condom as often mention as an instrument for protecting one’ self during sexual intercourse sound illusive, because in the process of the exercise the condom can break. So the uses of condom lack assurance.
It is also worthy to recommends Federal Government of Nigeria, Philanthropists, Churches, Mosques, Organizations (both local and international) for their efforts towards find lasting solution to this wicked disease.
Meanwhile, there is one thing the government of the federal republic of Nigeria and other African countries pay little or no attention to. In Nigeria to be specific, and Africa as a whole, Malaria is another deadly disease. It is claiming a lot of lives on the continent either unnoticed or without any attempt to control it on the parts of the government. The means of getting infected with this disease is quite unique from those of AIDS. Mosquitoes are the major transmitters of malaria and can be easily control if all hands must be on deck (if government wants to). But if the war against malaria is left in the hands of individuals, malaria will continue to raise its ugly face on the continent of Africa.
In view of this, I am moved to appealing to those in power or at the corridor of power through this medium to help the helpless, defenseless, voiceless and powerless Nigerians and other Africans from this predicament.
This is not to say researchers are to stop searching towards finding lasting solution to AIDS, but as they are at their duty post, we should not folds our arms and close our eyes towards malaria, those within the power should do every thing humanly possible to combat malaria on the continent.
FREEDOM IN NIGERIA:
Comrade Ishaya Zhakom.
We were enslaved by the so-called whites until October 1st, 1960 when were freed. But is there freedom in Nigeria?Besides, what is freedom? Who is free? Are you free? Am I? Are we?
No; the voices of common men on the streets.
Freedom in Nigeria is meant for the bourgeois, 47 years of birth, Nigeria is still a baby.
Democracy or military regime, a common man cans differentiate in Nigeria.
What then is freedom in Nigeria context?

MY HOME BEYONG THE SKY.
Comrade Ishaya ZhakomWhen shall I travel home? The planet on which I live is a jungle. Survival of the fittest is the order of the day. Though there is no electricity in my home town, I shall be lonely while at home, my eyes shall ceased to see the beauty of nature, no crisis nether food but peace and silent, yet it is my home and must go one day.
Though wretched and rejected now by men, I shall be rich and accepted on my way home, wrapped with white yard, put in an ambulance, siren and convoy will follow me like a president. Good testimony must be given as I travel home, which is usual among Nigerians.
My foes shall be my pals, for the travelers are always love by all. My pastor shall read from the history book, he too must not say evil about me. Both young and old, males and females, weak and strong will put on sad faces; my picture a lone will covered a page of vanguard. This too is usual among Nigerians. Adieu will be the last word.
